3rd Annual Vernon Open Tennis Tournament
The tennis tradition in Vernon continues to thrive. The Vernon Tennis Association successfully hosted the 3rd Annual Vernon Open Tennis Tournament.
The event featured men’s doubles and mixed doubles competitions, both at Level B. The matches were highly competitive and engaging, with all participants expressing their enthusiasm for the tournament.
During breaks, players enjoyed large sandwiches prepared by the Butchers Brothers, along with snacks, coffee, and soft drinks. Favorable weather conditions contributed to the smooth progression of the matches.
The success of the tournament was largely due to the dedicated efforts of Graham Cooper, the tournament director, who managed all arrangements on short notice.
Men’s Doubles (Level B)

- 3rd Place: Karthik Narayanan and Minh Quan Nguyen
Mixed Doubles (Level B)
- 1st Place: Kirby Lockhart and Sandra Leidt
- 2nd Place: Rob Apps and Leslie Irvine
- 3rd Place: Don MacKenzie and Fran Kwang
